Rev. Nora P. Elliott gives thanks to God and the spirit at work in the members of Union UCC, as it prepares to celebrate 150 years of ministry in Elk River. As an openly queer woman, she is thankful for the congregation’s acceptance and is eager to support Union UCC's mission to care for all of God's children and creation.
Rev. Elliott has a rich background in progressive faith formation and spirituality, including certification to lead the Our Whole Lives faith and sexuality program for all ages including 65+, as well as antiracism education with Crossroads Antiracism Training. She is dedicated to fostering understanding and compassion through education and dialogue, using the Bible as her reference point.
Outside of ministry, Pastor Nora enjoys native gardening and playing Dungeons & Dragons. She shares her life with her wife, two kids, and two cats, while looking forward to serving Union UCC and wider Elk River communities.

Union Congregational Church is a member of the United Church of Christ (UCC). The UCC was established in 1957 from five historical denominations: Congregational, Christian, Afro-Christian, Evangelical and Reformed. Currently, there are 5,600 UCC churches and 1.2 million members throughout the United States. Historically, the UCC has always been a progressive denomination, ordaining the first African American in the 18th century, the first woman in the 19th century, and the first gay man in the 20th century.
